Joanna loved Shannon Carne and he loved her, but there were several overwhelming reasons why they should not marry.
“All right, Joanna,” Shannon said harshly. “I love you. But it’s no use. It never was, and it never will be. We’ve had today. Let’s just remember it as a day out of time.”
Joanna stared at him numbly, envisaging the future, bleak without him. She had to find some way to make him change his mind!
