Kerry had assumed that her stepfather would leave his large department store to his son, Ross. But Andrew must have had something else in mind, he stipulated that both Kerry and Ross were to inherit the store.
She liked old-fashioned friendliness and service. He was all for modern impersonal efficiency. Between them, Sinclair’s was becoming a battleground.
The solution seemed obvious. Marriage would consolidate their interests. But Kerry swore she would never marry a man like Ross Sinclair, even if he was resorting to blackmail.
