Noble Savage - by Violet Winspear - Harlequin Presents - # 90 - 1975.

Mrs. Amy du Mont was, quite frankly, a monster, rich, vulgar, overbearing and an appalling snob. And when she encountered the imposing Spanish grandee, the Conde Estuardo Santigardas de Reyes, she would have given anything to be admitted to his society.
But no, it was Mrs. Du Mont’s companion, quiet, shy little Altar Garret, who interested the Conde, to the extent that in a very short time he asked her to marry him. He made it quite clear that it was not for romantic reasons that he had proposed to her, he needed a mother for the baby boy in his care.
Altar felt that anything would be better than working for Mrs. Du Mont, but what else was she going to get out of the arrangement?
