Caroline left her alcoholic husband, Peter in an act of desperation, to save herself and their little daughter from him.
Their three year security was shattered when Nick Hold, Peter’s cousin turned up on her doorstep, to tell her that Peter was dead and to bring them home to Peter’s mother.
But hardest of all to bear was Nicks’ contempt for her. There was no way of counter acting the lies that Peter had told him about her, and Caroline found herself wanting Nick’s good opinion.
