Yet Love Remains - by Mary Burchell - Harlequin Presents - # 83 - 1975.

He didn’t believe that she loved him.
Helen and Sylvia had long been friends, had grown up together in Sylvia’s home after Helen was orphaned.
Counting on Helen’s customary protective attitude toward her, Sylvia implored Helen to save her from a disastrous marriage to famous playwright Charles Lane. According to Sylvia he was “selfish, tyrannical, conceited and unfaithful.”
The plot they worked out to snare Charles went through without a hitch, until Helen discovered he was the man she had just fallen in love with herself!
